The Intelligent Reading Specialist
LUCA Summer Reading Program 2026
This summer, your child stops dreading reading.
Pilot students gained +17.4 WPM and 85% reached high-confidence reading. Less than $1 per day. Unlimited access all summer.
SUMMER READING CHALLENGE
Every child deserves a reading specialist. The math never made that possible. Until now.
In U.S. schools, one reading specialist serves up to 211 struggling readers. Not because specialists do not care. Because there is no other way to do the math at scale.
Private tutors are an excellent option, and for many families they are the right one. But consistent specialist-level practice, at the frequency a struggling reader actually needs, has never been affordable for most families.
LUCA does not replace great tutors. It is what your child does between sessions, or when a specialist is not in reach this summer. Daily practice, at their exact level, listening to every sound they make.
211:1
Students per reading specialist in U.S. schools
Each child gets minutes a week, not the daily practice that builds fluency.
$35–$150/hr
Private tutoring cost per hour
Three sessions a week all summer. That math only reaches families who can afford it.

LUCA Summer Program
Unlimited access. Every session personalized. Works alongside tutors and school instruction.
Everything your child needs this summer.
One payment. Unlimited access. Less than $1 per day.
Less than $1 per day
One payment unlocks unlimited LUCA access for the entire summer. Every story, every session, every progress report. Private tutors run $75 to $150 an hour. LUCA is designed so every family can afford specialist-level support.
Minutes. Not hours.
15 minutes, 3 to 4 sessions a week. A car ride. Before bed. Between activities. Your child opens it when the moment appears, on any device, and LUCA picks up exactly where they left off. No schedule to keep. No pressure.
Days to stop the slide
Students who do not read over summer lose ground that takes months to recover in the fall. Struggling readers are hit hardest. 90 days of consistent short sessions does not just hold ground. It builds it.
Price increases each day closer to June 1.

What happens inside every session
Most reading programs treat every child the same. LUCA listens to every sound your child makes, finds the exact gaps, and builds a session as unique as they are.
Listens
Sound by sound, not word by word
As your child reads aloud, LUCA hears every individual sound they make. Not just whether a word was right or wrong, but exactly which sound broke down. Small stumbles get caught before they become bigger gaps.
Analyzes
Finds the pattern, not just the mistake
LUCA recognizes which sounds are strong, which are shaky, and how confidence is shifting session by session. The next session adapts automatically. No parent action needed.
Builds
A new story, every session, about what they love
Every session ends with a story written specifically for your child, at their exact reading level, about topics they actually care about. Reading practice stops feeling like punishment when the story is theirs.
We did not build software. We built the reading specialist every child deserves.
The numbers that matter to parents
Every number below comes from the LUCA Spring 2026 pilot: 140 students, 5 schools, 2 states, 14 weeks. Results independently verified by LeanLab Education.
+17.4 WPM
Average reading speed gain
WPM means words per minute. An average child gains about 6 WPM per year of school instruction. LUCA students gained 17.4 WPM in 14 weeks. That is roughly three years of typical growth in a single summer program.
85%
Reached high-confidence reading
High-confidence means your child reads the way confident readers do: accurately, smoothly, and without stopping to decode every word. More than 8 in 10 students crossed that threshold.
2.9x
Growth rate vs. non-LUCA peers
This was measured by the schools using their own assessments, not ours. LUCA students grew at 2.9 times the reading rate of classmates who did not use LUCA. Students who started below grade level grew 105%.
88%
Saw measurable gains in week one
Most families see something shift before the first week ends. 64% saw measurable improvement within two days. You will not spend weeks waiting to know if it is working.
These results are why families sign up. Less than $1 per day.

+17.4 WPM
Average reading speed gain
That is roughly one full grade level of improvement. Measured across real students in real classrooms, not a controlled lab.
You are not the first parent to think this.
“We have tried programs before. Why is this different?”
Most reading programs hand every child the same content and listen at the word level. LUCA listens at the phoneme level, the smallest unit of sound, and writes a new story each session around what your child loves. That is the difference between documenting your child's struggle and actually fixing it.
Reluctant readers engage when the story is theirs. Engagement is what builds the skill.
“My child is too far behind. What if it's too late?”
LUCA places every child at the level they actually read at, not where their grade says they should be. They grow against their own baseline, at their own pace. In the Spring 2026 pilot, 85% of struggling readers reached high-confidence reading thresholds, including children reading 2 or more years below grade level.
It is not too late. Your child has not run out of time.
“We already work with a tutor. Why would we need this too?”
You do not need to choose. LUCA is what your child does between tutor sessions, reinforcing the exact skills their tutor is working on with daily phoneme-level practice. Most families find the two work better together than either does alone.
LUCA works alongside great tutors, not instead of them.

Questions parents ask before signing up
Yes, there is a cost. Less than $1 per day for unlimited access all summer. The earlier you sign up, the lower the price. The price increases each day we get closer to June 1, so signing up today gets you the best rate. Signups opened May 15 and will remain open throughout the summer.
Between 15 and 20 minutes per session, 3 to 4 times per week. Kindergarten and 1st grade start at 10 to 15 minutes. Sessions are short by design. Consistent short practice builds the skill. A marathon session once a week does not.
No, and it is not meant to. Tutors are excellent and many families rely on them. LUCA is what your child does between sessions: daily phoneme-level practice that reinforces exactly what their tutor is working on. The two work together.
Most programs hand every child the same content. LUCA writes a new story each session built around what your child loves: animals, sports, dragons, whatever pulls them in. Reluctant readers engage when the story is theirs.
LUCA places every child at their actual reading level after the first session, not their grade level. A 5th grader reading at a 2nd grade level practices 2nd grade material. They build from a real starting point. In the Spring 2026 pilot, 85% of struggling readers reached high-confidence thresholds.
Kindergarten through 12th grade. LUCA listens in the first session and places each child at the right reading level regardless of their grade.
Yes, and especially well. LUCA's phoneme-level listening identifies the specific sound-symbol relationships that cause difficulty for dyslexic readers. The instructional approach follows Structured Literacy principles: explicit, systematic, multisensory practice.
Any device with a microphone works: Chromebook, iPad, laptop, or desktop. Mobile phones are discouraged. Some of the lesson activities have text and interactive elements that can be hard to read and use comfortably on a smaller screen. A tablet or laptop gives your child the best experience. No app to download. It runs in any web browser.
LUCA runs in any web browser on any device. Take it anywhere. Skip a session when life happens. LUCA remembers exactly where your child left off.
Yes, please. There is a share panel further down this page for email, text, and social. Every family you tell is another child who gets a real shot at keeping their reading skills sharp this summer.
